I very rarely get excited over a bathing suit, but HOT DAMN this one is amazeballs!!!!
I'm thinking I may need to get one for the wedding trip to Vegas. Skeleton swimsuit to lounge in by the pool? Yes please!

Mr. Social's Black Shorts
We're more than half way through summer now, and I am far away from my goal of making Mr. Social 4 or 5 pairs of shorts. Oh well. That's what happens when you live without a/c for most of the summer, sewing time is seriously limited.
I actually finished these shorts quite some time ago. Somewhere around mid to late June if I recall correctly. It was just hard to get any pictures of them due to Mr. Social and I having opposing work schedules. For most of the summer we actually haven't had much time together, so when we got to spend the day together on Simcoe day (more commonly known as Civic Holiday) I got him to wear these shorts just so I could get some decent pictures of them :)
These are a variation of Burda 7626. A simple pair of elastic/drawstring waist shirts, I added front pockets and omitted the drawstring bottoms. Seriously simple shorts.
I had actually made a pair of these for him last summer that included the drawstring bottoms. Sadly, they met an unfortunate end that rendered them unwearable, so bits and pieces of them went into this new pair (mainly the elastic drawstring at the waist). Since these are such an easy project, I'll end up making another pair for him that include the drawstring bottoms for more casual wear. Which will mean another trip to High Park to try to catch a glimpse of the baby Wallaby (we didn't see the little guy on this outing) and to get more pics to show off my handiwork.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Tour de Fleece: Week Three Roundup (very, very late)
For the final week of the Tour de Fleece, I got pretty busy. After all, I had to make up for the two days away visiting with the in-laws where no spinning was done. BUT, the rest of the spinning was not done in an apartment as hot as a disco inferno. We ran into our super on the way out to visit the in-laws and she told us our landlord would replace it for us! Score!!! That made spinning for the rest of the tour much more bearable.
I finished up the alpaca spin. Seriously, alpaca is soooooo amazing to spin. I didn't want it to end.
And then I finished up an XX, XY, YY set of yarn
I love spinning these transition yarns and can't wait to get started on the next set! Here's close-ups of the XX and XY yarns. Lazy me hasn't got around to taking pics of the YY yarn on it's own just yet... but as soon as I do, I'll be adding these to my etsy shop, Veselka Yarns, as well :)
The Tour de Fleece was so much fun and helped me to get so much done! I can't wait for next year :)
